Hinduism - 3,102 Years BC

Jakata (DreamLandLibrary) - Hinduism (Sanskrit: Sanātana Dharma सनातन धर्म "Eternal Truth"), and Vaidika-Dharma ("Knowledge of Truth") is a religion originating from the Indian subcontinent. This religion is a continuation of the Vedic religion (Brahmanism) which is an Indo-Iranian (Aryan) belief.

This religion is estimated to have emerged between 3102 BC and 1300 BC and is the oldest religion in the world that still survives until now. This religion is the third largest religion in the world after Christianity and Islam with a total of nearly 1 billion people.

Hindus are mostly found in the Indian subcontinent. Here there are around 90% adherents of this religion. This religion had spread in Southeast Asia until about the 15th century, more precisely at the time of the collapse of Majapahit. From then on this religion was replaced by Islam and Christianity. At present, the majority of Hindus in Indonesia are Balinese, but also scattered on the islands of Java, Lombok, Kalimantan (Dayak Kaharingan), Sulawesi (Toraja and Bugis - Sidrap).
