Sunan Kudus (Grandson of Sunan Ampel) is the son of Sunan Ngudung or Raden Usman Haji, with Syarifah Ruhil (Sunan Bonang's sister) or Dewi Ruhil who has the title Nyai Anom Manyuran binti Nyai Ageng Melaka bint Sunan Ampel.
Sunan Kudus was born in Palestinian Al-Quds. Then with grandfather, father and relatives emigrated to the Land of Java.
Has a large role in the government of the Sultanate of Demak, namely as "War Commander, Advisor to the Sultan of Demak, Murshid Thariqah and Judge of the State Court".
Preaching among the Javanese rulers and prijajis.
His students, among others: Sunan Prawoto, the ruler of Demak, and Arya Penicu Adipati Jipang Panolan.
One of the famous legacies is the Menara Menara Mosque, with a mixture of Hindu and Islamic style architecture.
His grave is located in Kudus
